POSITION SUMMARY

The Human Resources Recruiter is responsible for the successful operations of the recruitment and staffing function of the Human Resources department through managing the full cycle recruitment process for all assigned open positions in California. This position is also responsible for the coordination, organization and management of activities related to student employment as well as the manager-in-training hiring processes. This position also functions in the capacity of Human Resources Generalist, fielding inquiries from staff and management in HR related matters and routing as necessary.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages the recruitment process for assigned open positions in the California campuses.
Conducts full cycle recruitment, including but not limited to the following:Prepares job descriptions and requisitions for open positions.
Posts open position advertisements in various venues.
Reviews applicant profiles to ensure they meet position minimum requirements.
Conducts phone and video screenings.
Conducts in person interviews.
Organizes and evaluates appropriate testing for candidates.
Obtains feedback from hiring managers and other interviewers.
Assists in hiring decision in conjunction with the HR Director, California Campus and the hiring manager.
Prepares salary recommendation for the approval of the Senior Director of Human Resources.
Conducts reference and background checks.
Prepares offer paperwork for successful applicants.
Schedules applicants for start date and makes arrangements for orientation.
Completes all applicable paperwork to begin the hiring and on-boarding process.
Manages the data entered into the recruitment / applicant tracking system, including updates on all current open positions and screening status of applicants, and ensures all data is complete and accurate.
Performs audits of data in the recruitment / applicant tracking system to ensure accuracy and completeness.  Prepares reports on recruitment activity and metrics, and disseminates on a regular basis.
Manages the on-boarding functionality in the Access HR system for employee new hires.
Provides back-up support to the recruitment function for student employees, including on-boarding new student employees.
Manage and coordinate all on-campus student employment at the Greenstone campus. Maintain job descriptions in compliance with federal work study guidelines, and ensure student employment web pages, forms, processes, handouts are updated regularly. Ensure students with Federal Work Study status are given hiring priority.
Complete all student new hire paperwork (I-9, W-4, e-verify, re-verify, etc.) in compliance with federal and state regulations, and enter information into HR information system. Process all student employment terminations, suspensions, withdrawals and leaves of absence. Coordinate background investigations where appropriate. Provide back up with new employee hire paperwork as needed.
Manage and coordinate all manager-in-training (MIT) employment at the Greenstone campus. Recruits for open MIT roles as necessary from graduating students.
Source student candidates to fill various student employment positions. Conduct outreach to students to maintain student employment levels at various location of the Greenstone campus.
Provide data and analytics on student employment recruitment activities.
Conducts research and provides recommendations to the HR Director, CA Campus regarding the latest trends in recruitment, selection, staffing, advertisement / posting venues, talent management, recruitment metrics and other areas of interest.
Coordinates interview schedules for hiring managers and candidates, which may include booking facilities, making travel arrangements, disseminating invitations and assisting invitees.
Manages leave of absence administration and workers compensation administration.
Performs Human Resources Generalist duties as assigned.
Manages Human Resources special projects as assigned.
All other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field, or significant work experience in lieu thereof.
Experience

A minimum of 2 years of progressive Human Resources experience; one (1) of which must have been in recruitment or staffing capacity.
Strong knowledge of recruitment administration and practices.
General knowledge of human resources activities.
Experience with an internet-based applicant tracking system required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience working with program administration in a multi-unit environment.
PHR designation.
Experience working in an academic institution or hospitality industry an asset.
